Henry received his bachelors degree in Applied Mathematics from Brown University in Providence, RI. He worked for the IBM Corporation for 35 years, retiring in 2011 where he was a Global Manager in IBM’s Global Process Services organization. He understands the importance of mastering basic skills as well as complex concepts. Henry is a charter member of the Kiwanis Club of Greater South Cobb, where he is the immediate past President, the current Treasurer and member of the Board of Directors.   Henry is committed to helping the children in his community improve their academic skills, become better students and get ahead of grade level. "We must prepare our children for the competitive global world economy in which they will compete ... starting with the community in which we live.”

Gail Coelho Lust is Henry’s wife and Co-Owner / Co-Center Director of the business. She has managed a very active household, raising 4 children and helping to raise 3 grandchildren. She co-manages the business and spends a great deal of her time focused on performing diagnostic assessments, progress tests and communicating with the parents and children before and after their sessions. She encourages the children to always do their best.  One of her inspirational messages is ... "I'm a little tired ... don't have much energy today, but it's OK-I'll do my work anyway, because you see ... I'm STRONG, I'm INTELLIGENT, and I'm COOL ... I can do ANYTHING I Put My Mind To !".

The Tutoring Center, Powder Springs GA is a Partner-in-Education through the Cobb Chamber with Tapp Middle School and Clarkdale Elementary school. We are also a member of the McEachern Academic Council for Excellence (ACE) and a gold business member of the McEachern PTSA.

Our classrooms feature an intense learning environment that combines “The Rotational Approach to Learning” and One-To-One Instruction. Both methods were developed by Edward S.Thalheimer, Ph.D., founder of THE TUTORING CENTER. Our innovative system gives your child far more One-to-One Instruction than he or she will ever receive in a classroom full of children, or even in a small group.

You have many choices available for your child, and we want you to make the choice that's in your child's best interest. For instance, many schools provide after-school tutoring or intervention programs for students who are having difficulty in school, and maybe your child has been offered one in the past. Even though these programs are free to families, current research indicates that these programs are inefficient and time-consuming. Since they focus mostly on completing your child's homework, they can not offer you a permanent solution. While school-based tutoring may provide your child with short-term homework help, THE TUTORING CENTER's intense One-to-One Instruction and "The Rotational Approach to Learning™" actually provide your child with long-term skills that will last a lifetime.
